I'm very pleased indeed to find I must say a HUGE THANK YOU to SHARON MAU for FEATURING this little bird in the group SQUARE FORMAT, cheers Sharon, thanks so very much.

I completely agree, Chris ... two of my own personal favorite captures are of a sparrow all fluffed up in a freezing blizzard and of a couple of squabbling starlings. Both are survivors and both have wonderful personalities!!!!!!

Fabulous image Chris!!

This is another vote for Canon's 70 - 200 and it's marvelous background bokeh. I love this lens. Wish it didn't weigh a ton though!! Thanks for the nice words again Deborah, always very much appreciated, cheers.

Ohhhhh that is gorgeous love the detail in the feathers and the sharpness of this wonderful capture
Chris Lord replied:
Canon lenses take all the credit in this one I think. Thanks so much for those very kind words, cheers.

( quickly doing the math ) is not worth as much as half a bird in the hand??? ( tipping my head sideways and looking at you quizzically ) Of course, it would be a lot less messy ... hmmm .... BUT ... once again ... awesome photography, Chris!!! This little guy is a true beauty ... and he posed for you so elegantly!!!! Fabulous portrait of him ... awesome detail!!!!!! Love the delicate colors of the soft background!!!! f&v of course!!!!!!!
Chris Lord replied:
I think the poor sparrow is much underrated. Sure we have millions of them so nobody notices them but they are one of the worlds best survivors after all. All of these guys in America descended from five released in a Brooklyn Cemetery back in the 1800s! Not bad going I think! At least they are not regarded as pests and killed in the thousands like the wonderful starlings! Hey ho, thanks very much for the fun comment Lois, much appreciated. Cheers.
