I must send out a huge THANK YOU to PRAVINE CHESTER who has graciously awarded a FEATURE to this image in the FEATHERS AND BEAKS GROUP. Cheers Pravine, that's much appreciated.

never seen one of these, almost looks like a miniature peacock.

Chris Lord replied:

I have to apologize, it seems, as it has taken me two years to get back to this image and discover your comment, thanks very belated much :-). I hope that you have seen starlings now, although when not fluffed up like this one was, they are not anywhere as interesting being more like blackbirds than peacocks. They are pretty much everywhere and are, unfortunately, killed as pests in many parts of America.

Chris this is outstanding ... starlings are a much maligned birdie, but they do have so much personality!!!!!

Chris Lord replied:

This poor starling has been so much maligned that it took me two years to discover your nice comment on it!!! It is, however, just as much appreciated now as it would have been then :-) Thanks very much indeed Lois, cheers.
