I saw this awesome beast a few years ago at the Bournemouth Air Show, it flew out over the Channel and then opened up to climb. Even from about ten or more miles distant the noise was like thunder.

Chris Lord replied:

She sure makes a lot of noise! But what a plane, just an amazing sight and it's such a shame they can't keep her flying anymore, thanks for a great comment Mike, cheers.

Spectacular colours Chris. We used to have the V-bombers stationed near us at RAF Marham; amazing machines indeed!

Chris Lord replied:

These planes are an incredible sight but I'm not sure I would want to live that close to that tremendous noise, thanks very much Richard. (When I was in school (England circa 1963-4) our art master's name was Richard Reeve! I never saw anything he had created except for bruises on a guy's forehead he made with a yardstick! His idea of art was to make us spend hours drawing gill-sans lettering with a ruler and compass. No reflection on your good self of course. :-)) Cheers.
